Alex and Greg Wheeler see a bright future for their four-year-old son Jake. This one is very smart and prefers Cinderella over GI Joe. Could have been good.

I actually watched this movie mainly because of the drama role of Parsons. Of every comedic actor, I sometimes like to see them actually act, and this time it was Parsons' turn. He definitely doesn't disappoint me either.

This film has quite a bit of potential to be good, but the direction falls a bit short. It certainly feels incomplete when it ends. It's too short and too rushed. It actually sometimes feels a bit rushed, while the effect is not wrong.

Parsons is on a roll. He always remains an actor with a somewhat comical charm, but he also does very well in drama films. I was a little less of a fan of Danes, but she's not bad at all.

It's a shame to say, and not every user will be happy, but with topics like this, more time and space should be taken. These movies should actually go to running times of 120-140 minutes. Then you can tell the story in a calmer and more complete way.

Now you are watching a good, but much too short drama, which feels abrupt and incomplete, especially when it ends. It's actually not much more than a "problem, fight and happy ending" movie. While if you take more time for it, better things can come out and have more impact.

Reasonably shot and strong acting, but a too rushed story. Many critics say that the focus is too much on the parents instead of the boy, but that is to be expected. You can't let such a guppy lean on these kinds of rollers quickly.

The third collaboration between Octavia Spencer and Jim Parsons. The first collaboration was during an episode of The Big Bang Theory in the second season. Their second collaboration came about during Hidden Figures.

I never doubted that a serious drama film would be a tough job for Jim Parsons. What can this man act, say. The problem, however, is that this film largely focuses on the personal issues between the parents. The main character Jake seems to have more of a supporting role. In addition, I completely agree with the above review. The film feels incomplete and rushed. Furthermore, the elaboration is mediocre, and the story is not particularly creative. Nevertheless, a reasonable viewer for Parsons enthusiasts.

2.5 *
