Amal plot
Amal is fourteen years old when she ends up in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution, after her boyfriend was killed in the Port Said stadium disaster. During the protests, she is beaten by the police and dragged across the square by her hair. This coming of age film follows her in the years after the revolution. As the film cuts between current events and Amal's rapidly changing life and appearance, we see how she seeks her own identity in a country in transition.
