A Year of Hope plot

A group of Filipino street boys from the slums of Manila get a chance to change their lives forever. They are allowed to stay for a year in a clinic on an island far away from Manila; a paradise compared to the hard street life. Some boys have been sexually abused, addicted to drugs and subject to family violence. The question is whether it is possible to lead a normal life if you have experienced the worst traumas from an early age.
