A deadly war between several neighborhoods ravages the California city of Richmond. Donté Clark transcends the violence in his hometown by writing poetry about his experiences. Using his voice to inspire those around him, he teamed up with the city's like-minded youth to create an urban adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. He hopes this will start a real dialogue about violence in the city. Will Richmond Donté jeopardize his idealistic ambitions? Or will Donté be able to stop the traumas in Richmond?
