A drama, but not really a mystery; everything is revealed too quickly for that. I didn't think much of it. It's not due to the cast, who perform well, but unfortunately, the story isn't particularly remarkable. There are some antagonisms between brother and sister, both claiming the farm's inheritance, and a dark secret from their past also plays a role. It all moves along rather slowly and offers few surprises.

An atmospheric, somber, and grim family drama about brother and sister who confront each other after 15 years of profound estrangement from traumatic childhood experiences. The story itself isn't particularly remarkable, but the excellent acting—especially by Ruth Wilson—makes the film well worth seeing. Sean Bean's role is little more than a cameo.

Weak.

A dour, weighty drama with two damaged characters that unfortunately doesn't make for an interesting film. The acting of Ruth Wilson and Mark Stanley doesn't do much for me either. At the same time, the direction, with its choice of short flashbacks, doesn't appeal to me. The abuse is readily apparent, but I simply watched it with apathy. The whole brother-sister dynamic left me cold for the entire film, and considering how poignantly they try to conclude the film, that clearly can't have been the intention.
