René van Nie; Kind van de Zon plot

René van Nie was born in Overschie in 1939, but grew up near Sittard in Limburg. At a young age he left for Amsterdam where he quickly learned to live and work independently. In his younger years he participated in countless (short) film productions, which he liked so much and for which he received so much appreciation, that he quickly obtained and produced many assignments independently. After numerous commissioned films, he made five fiction films in the period 1974-1982, including De Vijf van de Vierdaagse (1974), Kind van de Zon (1975) and Sabine (1982). After more than three decades of flourishing, his career came to an abrupt end after Sabine. Since 1988 he lives and works in Aruba.
