The pockets of draftsman Peter Vos (1935-2010) were always filled with pencils and sketchbooks. He couldn't help but draw. From an early age he provided drawings, tests, letters, and in fact every paper he dealt with. "You can also call it a disease," says son Sander Vos. It was Vos' way of expressing himself. No one could portray feelings of jealousy, horniness, anger and sadness in drawings so well.

Illustrator Peter Vos, who died in 2010, worked for Propura Cures and Vrij Nederland, among others, but a generation of children and their parents know him as the creator of the immensely popular Beestenkwartier (1970) with creations such as the Mafkikker, the Kamerelefant and the Klavierleeuw. This documentary tries to find out what the breeding ground was for his compulsive urge to illustrate, as well as how key moments influence him and his work. Archive footage shows that Vos was an engaging, charismatic personality and his downright impressive work (and his way of working) complete this documentary that should not be missed by any art lover.
