Born to Be Free plot

This documentary highlights the mistreatment of marine mammals and follows the fate of eighteen white whales that have been kept in captivity for years. Three intrepid journalists Gaya, Tanya and Julia chart the global trade in wild marine mammals. They travel to the most remote corners of Russia and testify, for the very first time, about the shocking treatment to which whales, dolphins and walruses are subjected. They also expose the corruption at the heart of this vicious international business community.
