"Love, honour and a bicycle"
'Tulipani' is a fairytale-like tragicomedy about a romantic Zeeland farmer (Gijs Naber) who never wants to get wet feet again after the flood disaster in 1953 and who cycles to the south of Italy. On the edge of a small village, he miraculously manages to grow tulips and becomes a living legend. Thirty years later, an Italian police inspector (Giancarlo Giannini) tries to find out what actually happened.

A lovely contemporary fairytale that I thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, there were plenty of sad moments, but overall, I found it an optimistic film. One I'll definitely watch again sometime...

Great movie! Very pleasantly surprised.
I watched the trailer and wasn't particularly impressed. After four months of watching other films, I finally got around to this one. And I'm glad I did! It's a really good film with some funny moments.
I really enjoyed it. I didn't expect that.

A good film about a man who, after the Zeeland flood disaster, leaves for Italy to rebuild his life. A beautiful story, beautifully told through long flashbacks. The film has a pleasant, slightly nostalgic atmosphere. It all looks beautiful and colorful, and the casting and acting are also excellent.
