"A balloon is like virtue - any moment it can go BANG!"
Mario, owner of a candy factory in Milan, is about to marry his beautiful fiancée Giovanna. After a visit from a sales balloon salesman, Mario slowly develops an obsession: he wants to know how far you can inflate a balloon without it bursting. His search takes him to an ecstatic and riotous balloon party. Giovanna soon gets tired of it.
