The story of a Jewish family in the World War through the eyes of the children. The story says nothing new, but I am convinced that such films about the World War always remain somewhat important. It also avoids some clichés. The family is Jewish, but not exactly practicing. And as we often see in war films through the eyes of children (think for example of Au revoirs les enfants) the impact of the war is not immediately clear, but it seeps in step by step. Un sac de billes apparently goes back to true facts and is a film with a heart. The young Dorian Le Clech does well as the young Joseph. A wonderful film!

Reasonable film about two young Jewish brothers who flee occupied France during the Second World War. Seen it all before and quite clichéd. It is presented quite adventurously and there is enough progress. The film looks good and the whole set-up is fine. Easily 3.0 stars.
