I'm surprised to see that only 45 votes were cast for this one

still a nice film.

I don't think you'll watch this movie if you don't care for the music.

I have Neil Diamond and I happen to have it.

I still play his music regularly.

Besides the music, I definitely thought the film was worth seeing.

Love, perseverance, religion and discrimination are discussed in this film.

a simple film, but still well presented and pleasant to watch.

plus the beautiful songs by neil diamond and yes, for me it can't get any better.

Not many Neil Diamond fans here...I think.

The man hasn't really released a good album since 1972, and this film is just plain bad, but not the worst film ever.

Diamand is not an actor, Olivier overacts and Arnaz is only an extra treat.

I haven't watched the film in its entirety in years, but I think I watched it all last year.

As already indicated, bad and also terribly dated.

Has acquired some cult status..

Pros: 70s/80s vibe is decent, Love on the Rocks is nice, also funny in the punk version and still interesting to watch once.

A glimpse into the Jewish community in America, which once again demonstrates how the doctrine of a faith can reverberate within a family. In this case, Jess, a decent performance by Diamond, who is simply superb as an artist and lives the life of an ordinary man, musically gifted, breaking into the music world. He plays it with restraint, facing the familiar obstacles of an average person's life. Arnaz is a good co-star, and yes, Olivier, excellent as his father. It's easy to watch, the music is good, and it's striking: "Just look at all the things passing by on the beach strip when his father visits him."
