"Kennedy Street: Where a girl learned about life - the hard way!"
The film is set in pre-war Kennedy Street in London. The tomboy Tommy (Melvyn Hayes) dreams of a life of crime to escape the slums and poverty. Tommy's naive mother, Jess (Joan Miller), without thinking twice, sends her son to local mobster Wilkie (Herbert Lom) for work. The latter soon brings the boy into contact with the underworld by giving him a job as a driver. On his first solo task, Tommy robs a truck driver and decides to keep the money for himself.
