The Battered Bastards of Baseball plot
"They put balls back in the game."
In 1972, Portland's AAA Minor League Baseball team decides to leave the city to fill the empty stands in another city. Actor and semi-professional baseball player Bing Russell decides to start an A Minor League Baseball team that is the only one to remain financially independent from the big boys from the Major League. Disapproved ex-baseball players, undiscovered talent and bearded lunatics from all over the country flock to the try outs. Everyone thinks Bing is crazy, but the athletes are out for revenge after the small clubs have been robbed for years by the big clubs.
