Los Inocentes plot

The story takes place in the 19th century. After fleeing the country fifteen years ago, prodigal son Rodrigo is finally allowed to return to the family farm in Mercedaria so that he can introduce his wife Bianca to his parents. That he is looking forward to seeing him again is somewhat exaggerated. In his youth, he worked with black slaves who, in between lashes, practiced voodoo on his parents' farm. His father, meanwhile, abused some women and his mother burned one of the victims to uphold the family's honour.
