Hôtel des Amériques plot
Helene takes a lot of medicines and one evening in Biarritz she bumps into Gilles. She is still somewhat absent due to the drowning of her lover earlier that year. Gilles slowly tries to establish a relationship with her, but she recoils. Later she starts to feel something for him and at the same time her depression ebbs away.
