1945, Liberation Day. People all over the world are celebrating the end of World War II. London is overrun with revelry. Two teenage sisters are allowed to go to a party for the first time at midnight. They have a great time like it's a first date. They come home much too late. Their home is Buckingham Palace and the two teenage sisters are Princess Margaret and the future Queen of England, Elizabeth II.
