“We are all in god's hands now.”

Thirteen in a dozen spy film that is still somewhat held together by Rapace's game. The premise of a CIA agent who has to prevent a terrorist attack is already done a lot, but it usually makes for fascinating films. But Unlocked lacks tension and towards the end there is just one twist too much. Characters do the silliest things and the bad guy's plan is all about coincidence. These kinds of films benefit from a simple plot and good tension building, but Unlocked does just the opposite. Even Douglas, Malkovich and Collette can't change that.

Just a good action thriller!

Noomi Rapace plays well and believable and is very suitable in a genre like this. Despite his small role, put Michael Douglas next to this and there is guaranteed tension and plot twists.

Also small roles for John Malkovic and Orlando Bloom.
As for Malkovic, fine. In my opinion he hardly played a top role after 2000 and in this way his status as "top actor" remains (unjustly) intact. Also in "Mile 88" he plays the exact same role as this one, maybe he shares my opinion...

Orlando Bloom is the opposite, good actor, but as long as he continues to play supporting roles or small roles like this, he will always remain "Legolas" to me....

The film needs little start-up time and is full of action from start to finish. It is slightly reminiscent of "The Bourne" and "MI".
Very pleasant in itself, just a pity in my opinion that there was not more playing time, so that there could be more build-up of tension.
The plot twists were quite nice, only very quickly from one moment to the next the interrogation was aborted to escape, all of a sudden Michael Douglas had been shot and without any outrage and emotion he was back as a mole and also the Sniper was virtually immediately exposed. Especially in CIA action thrillers it is very nice if the viewer is given the time to interpret the events themselves. Unfortunately this time was not there in this film, with a little more elaboration in that area and some more conversations, in about 20 minutes extra, this would have been a really great film.

Now just good!

3.5*

Noomi Rapace confirms her status as an action hero in this fast-paced, suspenseful action thriller with a fantastic supporting cast (including Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom) about a former secret agent who was unable to prevent a terrorist attack in Paris in 2012 and therefore resigned. Now she appears to be the only person who can help prevent another biological weapon attack in London. The plot is quite complicated and contains a bit too many final twists, but in his latest feature film Apted shows that this is still right up his alley. The great cast does the rest.
