Biography of Nina Simone, the legendary African-American singer-songwriter, pianist and civil rights activist. She is mainly counted among the jazz musicians, but she hated this term herself. When she made her debut at a piano concerto at the age of ten, her parents, who had sat in the front row, had to make way for whites. This incident caused her to later become involved in Martin Luther King's Civil Rights Movement.
