Maryland plot
Vincent, a French Special Forces soldier, has just returned from Afghanistan. He suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and at the moment he is not fit to fight again. He takes a job as a security guard at the luxury villa of a Lebanese businessman, Imad Whalid, - on the Côte d'Azur - where a gala evening takes place. The next day Imad unexpectedly has to go on a business trip to Geneva and Vincent accepts the assignment to watch over his wife Jessie and son for a period of 48 hours. He soon becomes immersed in her private life. Vincent seems to be losing himself more and more in paranoia. Unless he's right, and the danger is very real indeed...

Lucky, this film that ends like a thriller and of which only the last scene does not bring what I expected and hoped for.
Yet another excellent Matthias Schoenaerts - again in a rather taciturn role - as the restless, traumatized soldier who cannot detach himself from the war horror.
Diane Kruger's interpretation is also good.

Brought this one along, but found it a bit disappointing. Not that it was such a bad movie, just the pace was pretty slow and not much happened in it.
The cast did not do a bad job and did come across as convincing.
In the end, not bad, but the film could perhaps have a little more spice.

A kind of movie like The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. Less spectacular and flashy, though. And certainly no romantic aspect to this film. An introverted Schoenaerts here, a soldier who is in the country for a while and does some extra work as a guard. A soldier with the necessary scratches on his psychological soul, although they are only weakly worked out.
A film that ripples on and keeps everything to the end. Yet there is always a subcutaneous tension present, but insufficient to really suck you in. Overall, a mediocre film that stands out from the crowd. Not bad, but just during the week.
Schoenaerts is indeed not bad in his role, but he has already put down better or sharper ones.
