Phew. That didn't work out. A village full of caricatures and chaotic, messy and unfunny scenes. And then suddenly all the drama that falls from the sky. The only plus is Kate Winslet, both her acting and her looks.
At the end credits I wondered what exactly I had been watching - and even more why the users who wrote something about this play are so enthusiastic about this play.

Entertaining.
Expected something completely different, but maybe that's not bad: The Dressmaker is a tragicomic little thing, with a lot of caricatures - some more successful than others. At times it gets a bit messy and the film is not really well balanced. The little drama is sometimes taken seriously, only to quickly switch back to the somewhat absurd comic undertone. Fine as an in between, certainly also because of some cool characters, but then again no more than that.
