Christmas Oranges plot
The now nine-year-old Rose was abandoned at birth and then grew up, perfectly happy, in the cozy Greenwoods orphanage. Due to a great tragedy, just before Christmas, she is transferred to a much less pleasant orphanage. The strict headmaster, Mr. Crampton (Edward Herrmann), ensures that all children are punished when one of them breaks his rules. To Rose, he is extra cruel in his approach. One day, Rose learns that the headmaster's brother is giving each child in the home an orange as a Christmas present. On Christmas morning, when all the children eagerly await their juicy sweet present, Crompton once again punishes her and seems to miss the treat. But… Christmas is a time of miracles.
