After the war, Nelly von Len returns to her home in devastated Berlin in 1945, physically badly damaged. She gets her deformed face back with a facial reconstruction, but she prefers to have her life back from before the war with her husband Johnny. Despite the suspicion that Johnny betrayed her and sent her to a concentration camp, she goes looking for him.
