1941, Eastern Europe. It is precisely the village idiot Schlomo that comes with the disturbing news that the Nazis in the neighboring villages are putting all Jews on trains departing for unknown destinations. The residents want to get ahead of the Germans and come up with a plan: they go voluntarily to the train and choose their own destination.
