Meghan Markle is now one of the most famous people on Earth following her marriage to Prince Harry of the British Royal Family.
Before becoming royalty, Markle was famous as a television actress in the United States due to her role as Rachel Zane on Suits. It was while she was still making that show that she became engaged to Harry, which led to the Royals interfering with a few script alteration ideas.
Strangely, the one specific word that Markle was banned from saying was 'poppycock'. This was, presumably, so that pesky online trolls wouldn't cut footage of her saying the word 'c*ck'.
“(The royal family) weighed in on some stuff. Not many things, by the way, but a few things that we wanted to do and couldn’t do, and it was a little irritating,” Suits creator Aaron Korsh told The Hollywood Reporter.
“The royal family did not want her saying the word, They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth. I presume because they didn’t want people cutting things together of her saying ‘c**k’. So, we had to change it to ‘bulls**t’ instead of ‘poppycock,’ and I did not like it because I’d told my in-laws that (poppycock) was going to be in the show. There was maybe one or two more things, but I can’t remember.”
Korsh assured that it was not Markle who made the recommendations or demands.
“I had some sympathy because I wouldn’t want somebody doing that to her either (splicing the words)," he added.
"And the thing is, I didn’t think anybody really would, but also I don’t know. People are crazy.”
Markle has now retired from acting to focus on family life with Harry and their daughter, Lilibet.
