Jamie Foxx has provided a promising health update after his hospitalisation earlier this year.
While filming new movie Back in Action which co-stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close, the Academy Award winner became gravely ill with an ailment that has still not been revealed.
Foxx's daughter Corrine announced that her father had been hospitalised in April.
Details on the exact nature of Foxx's illness were scarce, but it was reported that he was recuperating in a facility that specialised in stroke and brain injuries.
Thankfully, he is on the mend.
"You're lookin at a man who is thankful…" Foxx posted on Instagram.
"Finally startin to feel like myself… it's been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light… I'm thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don't know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn't know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day."
Foxx should be back on set for Back in Action before the end of the year.
Cameron Diaz to come out of retirement
Diaz has not appeared in a feature film since 2014's Annie, which also starred Foxx.
Following that decision, she has discussed in numerous interviews the reasoning for her retirement, including excessive travelling and wanting to be with her family more often. The actress was convinced to come out of her retirement by Foxx, who announced her involvement with Back in Action via a Tweet.
Foxx put Diaz in touch with Tom Brady, the legendary NFL star who himself came out of retirement recently.
Back in Action will be produced for Netflix and will be directed by Horrible Bosses helmer Seth Gordon.
