Chris Evans and Alba Baptista got married in a quiet ceremony in Boston over the weekend.
It was a low-key affair for the newlyweds, with only close family and friends in attendance. For Evans, that meant invitations for his Marvel co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were fellow A-listers in attendance.
According to Page Six, guests were asked to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements to keep from sharing any pictures of the ceremony, which took place at the couple's home near Boston on Saturday.
Last November - when Evans and Baptista had already been dating for over a year - he expressed a desire to get married and have a family.
“That’s absolutely something I want — wife, kids, building a family,” he told People at the time. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them it wasn’t the work they made , it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
Evans is most known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Who is Alba Baptista?
Evans' new bride is an actress herself and the daughter of an engineer and a translator. Born in Lisbon, Baptista has followed in her translator mother's footsteps a bit as she speaks no less than five languages - Portuguese, English, German, French and Spanish.
She wanted to become an actress since the age of 15 and one of her inspirations was Disney's version of The Hunchback of Notre Damm.
To American audiences, she is best known for her lead role in the Netflix series Warrior Nun, which tells the story of a quadriplegic orphan who discovers she now has supernatural powers.
Baptista is also recognised her performance in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and has some won awards for her work, including the European Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival and the Best Actress Award at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné for her role in the short film Miami.
