Constellation plot

Jo is an astronaut who returns to Earth when a disaster occurs in space. At home, however, she discovers that important pieces of her life seem to be missing. Jo then investigates and gradually discovers the hidden history of space travel. As she uncovers them, Jo tries to get back everything she lost.

De serie steekt goed in elkaar. Mooi sfeertje, mooi geluid, prima acteurs en actrices, en een bijzonder verhaal wat nergens enige uitleg krijgt. Is het een uit de hand gelopen experiment? Is de oorzaak 'outer space'? Het is daarentegen wel goed uitgewerkt. De hele serie is er een beklemmend sfeertje die de vragen oproept "wat is nou echt?" en vooral "wat als...?". En dat zorgt voor de nodige spanning, waardoor het geen minuut verveelt. Vooral door die laatste vraag moest ik gelijk denken aan de film Sliding Doors (1998). Wat als...? Het einde vond ik enigszins teleurstellend. Ik had iets anders verwacht, maar tegelijkertijd is dit misschien een beter einde, en geen slap aftreksel. Ik zit nog in dubio.

The series is well put together. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful sound, excellent actors and actresses, and a special story that is not explained anywhere. Is it an experiment gone wrong? Is the cause 'outer space'? On the other hand, it is well developed. There is an oppressive atmosphere throughout the series that raises the questions "what is real?" and especially "what if...?". And that creates the necessary tension, so there is never a dull moment.

That last question in particular immediately made me think of the film Sliding Doors (1998). What if...?

I found the ending somewhat disappointing. I expected something different, but at the same time this might be a better ending, and not a lame one. I'm still in doubt.

Gemengde gevoelens na het zien van deze serie. Het begin is erg goed, met de scenes in de ruimte en de spanning over de terugkeer. Ergens in de 2e helft van de serie wordt het lastig om de aandacht erbij te houden, en gaat de serie eigenlijk als een nachtkaars uit. Wat er nu precies gebeurd is in de ruimte, is me nog steeds niet duidelijk. Ergens zijn 2 werkelijkheden ontstaan, maar hoe die met elkaar verbonden zijn, en wat de CAL daarmee te maken heeft? Geen idee. De serie doet in de verte wat denken aan Dark, maar zit duidelijk minder goed in elkaar. En Jonathan Banks vond ik slecht gecast, in tegenstelling tot Noomi Rapace, die zeer overtuigend is.

Mixed feelings after seeing this series. The beginning is very good, with the scenes in space and the tension about the return. Somewhere in the second half of the series it becomes difficult to keep your attention, and the series actually fizzles out. It is still not clear to me what exactly happened in space. Somewhere 2 realities have arisen, but how are they connected and what does the CAL have to do with it? No idea. The series is somewhat reminiscent of Dark, but is clearly less well put together. And I thought Jonathan Banks was poorly cast, unlike Noomi Rapace, who is very convincing.

Lovende recensies, maar de serie had beter in 1 film gegoten kunnen worden. Het is te traag en te langdradig, terwijl het verhaal op zich erg goed is. Wel heel mooi gemaakt

Rave reviews, but the series could have been better cast in 1 film. It's too slow and too long-winded, while the story itself is very good.
