The Rookies plot

Mike Danko, Willie Gillis and Terry Webster have all joined the police force. They are novices in their jobs and experience the necessary things. Mike is a former Marine, Willie is a recent graduate and Terry is enlisted by the police as part of a special minority project. Their boss is Lieutenant Eddie Riker and Jill, Mike's wife, also plays a major role in the novice cop's life.
