The Couple Next Door plot
Evie and Pete move to a posh neighborhood and find themselves in a world where everyone watches each other and suffers from status anxiety. They find friendship in the form of their neighbors, traffic policeman Danny and his wife, the glamorous yoga instructor Becka. But after Danny and Evie spend a passionate night together, trouble arises.

Yeah, that's nice. Another one, please.
The production values themselves aren't all that bad; the actors are still passable for what the series demands. The obvious drawback is the story, but what else can you expect? It's a shame, because with a little more imagination, so much more could have been achieved. Even with this cast and crew. But the level of ambition, from concept to script to execution, is no higher than cheap and lazy viewing, and that strikes mercilessly after the decent first installment—but then five more follow.
