Mike Hammer, a tough private detective, takes to the streets of modern New York City on his business. It's not money that drives him, but his ardent passion for justice and the truth. Hammer's unorthodox methods often violate the law, causing him to regularly clash with Lawrence Barrington, who does everything by the book and expects everyone around him to do the same. Hammer is assisted by a host of beauties, his faithful secretary Velda and his best friend and police commander Pat Chambers.
