La Legge di Lidia Poët plot

In Turin in the late nineteenth century, the young Lidia Poet battles everything and everyone in order to obtain what is rightfully hers: to be officially admitted to the register of lawyers. At the time, this profession was in practice only reserved for men. Nevertheless, nothing and no one could stand in Lidia's way in the battle she fought for herself, but ultimately fought for all women. She thus became the first female Italian lawyer.

La Legge di Lidia Poët season 1

Lidia Poët (Matilda De Angelis) is a delightful character. Her colorful dresses. Her creative solutions to legal problems. Her struggle to be accepted as a full-fledged lawyer. Her one-twos with brother Enrico or niece Marianna. It's just a shame that 'The Law According to Lidia Poët' (2023) itself is not as progressive as its cheerful protagonist. It seems as if every opportunity is seized for obligatory nudity and juicy sex scenes. With a rather lame love triangle between Lida Poët and two photogenic men. In general, I don't really mind that so-called 'Male Gaze' in film or television. But with such an explicitly feminist role model as in 'The Law According to Lidia Poët' (2023), it does become a bit uncomfortable that much is flattened with sexist clichés.
