A young black Iraqi war veteran named Rayshawn has been framed by the New Orleans Police Department for a drug deal. He flees for his life and takes refuge in his apartment building with his girlfriend and child. When the New Orleans Police Department and the SWAT team are outside ready to storm his home, a social media frenzy ensues as community members and news outlets arrive on the scene. During this growing chaos, a sympathetic cop named Steven Poincy takes on the role of a negotiator, and over the course of a relentless, stressful day, he tries to persuade Rayshawn to surrender to prevent an escalation of needless violence.
