Sara suddenly becomes a widow and cannot comfort her troubled son. She finds help with a therapy group of very different individuals who are all struggling with a similar personal tragedy, including a down-and-out rock musician who is forced to care for the teenage children he abandoned long ago, a seemingly in control being a director desperately trying to keep up a facade, and a lonely young woman who wants to have a child from her lost love.
