Phoenix Rising plot

Actress and activist Evan Rachel Wood uses her experiences of domestic violence to seek justice and help individuals recover from generational trauma. She also wants to tell her story and, better yet, explain it to the general public. After all, we still live in a culture that, as it were instinctively, still tends and threatens to blame and threaten to blame women, who are usually victims in such a situation. She begins her story by naming her notorious abuser, abuser and rapist: Brian Warner, better known as Marilyn Manson.

Since I did not follow these developments at the time, this was a very interesting and surprising documentary for me. It's good that issues like this get a stage. Because of the long running time, the two episodes came across more like an Evan Rachel Wood biography than a documentary about domestic or sexual violence. This weakened the message somewhat as far as I'm concerned.
