De Eilanden plot

For a long time there was a plan to reclaim the Wadden Sea. Due to protest and lack of money, this did not become a reality. The Islands continued to exist and today form places of tranquility, space and identity. Free places. On the mainland, everything seems tight, hectic and organized. Everything feels dynamic on the islands. Is that the case or are the Wadden Islands simply extensions of the mainland? Midas Dekkers takes a year to answer these complex questions. The biologist visits one island per season. Midas takes the viewer on his old Solex. He watches and guides in his well-known style. In addition to accurate observations, this yields portraits of residents and their customs, colored by the seasons. In short: together we will look for what remains of the Wadden Islands.
