Jonas Van Boxstael, better known as Bockie De Repper, struggles with the fear of death. His wild and greedy lifestyle combined with the early death of his father and grandfather make him increasingly doubt his expiration date. Disguised as an elderly man, he immerses himself in life in a residential care center and assumes the identity of a resident. For four weeks, he then immerses himself in the daily routines and intimate experiences of his fellow residents, in search of wisdom and insight into the complexity of growing old.
