Clare is not doing well. Her marriage to her husband Danny is on the rocks, her daughter Rae barely talks to her, and Clare's once promising writing career is dying. When an old friend suggests taking over an advice column, she's not really into it. After reluctantly agreeing, Clare discovers she's just right for it. When the letter writers force Clare to rethink her most important experiences, she draws inspiration from the quality, struggle and humor of her own life and shows that man can still be saved.
