Omroep Max came at just the right time with this nostalgic musical series with a wink. I have nothing to do with the revue or Dutch music, but the atmosphere of the stiff fifties is portrayed very finely, with the theater as a kind of beacon of light in a time when the columns still drove a wedge between the different groups of people . A bit old-fashioned. Plenty of room for striking atmospheric sketches. The intro alone was a feast every week. Also a fine cast with the beautiful talent Noortje Herlaar, a star role for Peter Blok as the stiff rake with the warm heart and Annet Malherbe as the raised mother hen. The successor 'Good evening, ladies and gentlemen' (2015) was a lot less: a lot more serious and less playful.
