Writer/creator David J. Rosen (Hunters) delivers a sharp and surprising whodunnit thriller with Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, in which suspense and comedy effortlessly reinforce each other. An unpredictable crime case unfolds at a pleasant pace, full of harsh confrontations, awkward humor, and clumsy twists, in which victim Paula unexpectedly becomes the driving force behind her own story. Paula is a chaotic, single mother struggling with stress, loneliness, and webcam sex.
Tatiana Maslany (Invincible, Orphan Black) portrays her as a believable and layered character, with just the right balance between vulnerability, resilience, and dry humor. Although some comedic moments occasionally ease the tension slightly, the series remains captivating until the end thanks to the strong script, fresh tone, and excellent cast.
