Lowdown plot

Alex Burchill is a gossip journalist. He has a column in the formerly successful, but now ailing tabloid, the Sunday Sun. Alex interviews a celebrity for his column every week. Sometimes he gets hit. Sometimes he is arrested. And often the celebrity goes to bed with Rita, Alex's girlfriend. Readers, however, love Alex's writings, which serve as the newspaper's last lifeline.
