Love plot

After his girlfriend cheats, the kind Gus moves into a trendy apartment complex with bustling university students. A chance encounter leads him to Mickey, a tomboy who hates her job at a radio station and has recently broken up with her. Together they open each other's eyes in life and in love.

Net als in seizoen 2, ligt de focus dit seizoen voor een groot deel bij de personages rond Gus en Mickey. Allemaal erg vermakelijk, maar toch wat tegenvallend na het geweldige eerste seizoen. Richting het eind trekt het gelukkig bij, waardoor ik dit seizoen uiteindelijk toch nog erg de moeite waard vond. Wel genoeg zo, dus goed dat het stopt.

As in Season 2, the focus this season is largely on the characters around Gus and Mickey. All very entertaining, but a bit disappointing after the great first season. Fortunately, it picks up towards the end, so I found this season still very worthwhile. That's enough, so it's good that it stops.

Ondanks dat dit alweer het derde seizoen is, komt het geheel nog steeds fris over. En dat is voornamelijk te danken aan de twee fijne hoofdpersonages inclusief al hun menselijke tekortkomingen. De invulling van Gillian Jacobs en Paul Rust hiervan is simpelweg perfect. Het niveau van het eerste seizoen wordt wellicht niet gehaald, maar nog steeds een nipte 4.0 sterren.

Despite the fact that this is already the third season, it still comes across as fresh. And that is mainly due to the two fine main characters including all their human shortcomings. Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust's interpretation of this is simply perfect. The level of the first season may not be reached, but still a narrow 4.0 stars.
