The Witcher season 1

As a big fan of the games and the books, I was really looking forward to the series and the first season has not disappointed me. You can clearly see that Henry Cavill is familiar with the source material and he knows how to portray Geralt very well. Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra also know how to interpret the essence of Ciri and Yennefer well.

I agree with the previous posts that the narration method (especially in the beginning) feels a bit messy. I myself was less bothered by this, because I already know the world and the characters well, but for people with no knowledge of The Witcher it can seem unclear. It does not help that people seem to assume that the viewer has that knowledge. Various names and places are mentioned without the layman having an idea of who or what it is. Among others Kaer Morhen and the name Vesemir are examples of this. They should have thought a little more about that.

In the next season I expect that everything will connect a bit more logically since they will probably start with the 'first' book from the saga (Blood of Elves ). In this season the stories will be published The Last Wish and Sword or Destiny which are actually two collections of short stories presenting the world and its important characters.

The first season of The Witcher is a good start to a potential top series. Now it's a matter of getting on with it and then this can turn into something very special. 4* for now.

The Witcher season 2

I really think season 2 is better than the 1st, not much difference but after having seen 5 episodes I can say that in my eyes.

The Witcher season 1

Watched this series again briefly.. partly because I don't understand why people are so enthusiastic about Netflx series. Already in episode 1 I see things that irritate me right away. The focus on feminism.. powerful women and men as suckers. It takes place in a sort of medieval setting but I see Africans walking like knights. Fight scenes: women of 60 kg in armor on horseback fighting against guys of 100 kg.. Also, just like the Mandalorian, a hard killer, but who endlessly talks with girls like a bitch....

The Witcher season 3

Hardly got through it at first: I really thought, what am I watching right now and what is this about?
Everything is rushed, reference is made to everything from the earlier seasons (especially 2 that was also rushed). Eventually a common thread begins to emerge that ends in Aretuza, where things become more coherent.

It's irritating that Geralt has become a bit of a side character compared to Season 1 where he clearly took center stage.

The relationship between Geralt and Yen was the highlight for me, in the 'final' you really see that these two form a team and can take on the whole world.

Jaskier is obnoxious and superfluous and I should have left it out, or eaten it. Just like his relationship.

Ciri is the MacGuffin everyone wants and that's getting old. I found the shadow world from Season 2 interesting and the story behind it, but nothing is being done with it now.

I'll still watch it, but as soon as Henry is gone, (not) the Witcher (because that's hardly what it's about anymore) I think it's best to be buried.

And oh yes: where has all that nudity gone?!
