The shooting of the series ran from April 2009 to December 2009 and mainly took place in the city of Antwerp and on the island of Curaçao. After Witse, Wolven was the second fiction series to be rebroadcast with audio description for the visually impaired and blind.

A series where at the first episode you're like I don't know if I'm going to watch this. But with stiff perseverance, still watched the series. Gradually the story begins to take shape, the right pace and tension follow. Despite that, some scenes are unbelievable. As a viewer you also have to switch a lot between the many lines that are plotted to who is ultimately behind everything.

The acting is decent, but certainly not top quality. Main character Thomas Verhaeghe, played by Axel Daeseleire (known from Flikken Gent) plays a strong role, but also does not really convince. Iris De Witte, played by Simone Milsdatter also played an excellent role.. played her part convincingly. Gene Bervoets played a somewhat dusty and boring role as Chief Commissioner Steven Perseyn and did not think he came out very well in it, while he often puts down very good characters.

The series is certainly not one of the top series from Flanders, better ones have been delivered. Despite the minor criticisms: the series was entertaining.
