Beyond Paradise plot
Inspector Humphrey Goodman returns from the Caribbean to start a new life in the idyll of the British countryside with his fiancé Martha Lloyd. Seeking a quieter life away from the stress of the big city, Humphrey has taken a job as a detective in Martha's hometown. However, they soon discover that rural life is anything but peaceful and that the town has a surprisingly high crime rate. As a result, Humphrey again has to deal with many challenging matters.

For me, this series revolves around only one thing, and that is how Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton look at each other. Marshall, the somewhat gangly klutz we remember from Love Actually. And Bretton, well, I don't think of anything, but when you see that look in her eyes. Either she is the best actress ever, or Marshall is the love of her life. I find it beautiful to see, every single time.
