History of the World: Part II plot
Anthology series that each episode covers a different era, in the same way as its predecessor 'History of the World, Part I' four decades earlier. Each era is covered through a diverse number of sketches, which collectively take the viewer through different periods of human history. Not only our own history is parodied in this way, but also the various historical-epic films that Hollywood has produced over the years. For example, there are sketches in which the Pope and others from the high echelons of the Catholic Church conspire to portray Jesus Christ as a white man instead of a black man in true "marketing" fashion, and Marco Polo explains to people how the sport water polo is named after him.
