Murky Skies plot
Thirty years later, not everything is still clear about the crash of the Israeli cargo plane on two terraced apartment buildings in the Bijlmer in 1992. This three-part documentary examines, for the first time from an international perspective, the Bijlmer air disaster. The series provides new insights into the geopolitical interests and responsibilities surrounding this drama and shows the consequences for the residents. Thanks to new archive material, presumed lost evidence, 'inside' sources, secret operations, and never before interviewed persons from Israel and the United States, it has become a reconstruction of an environmental disaster in the heart of the Netherlands that has never been recognized as such. From the perspective of stakeholders, not only in the Netherlands, but also in Israel (El Al and the Israeli secret service) and the United States (Boeing), this international series examines the Bijlmer air disaster and, after thirty years, sheds a startling new light on geopolitical power of business and government.
