Modern Love Amsterdam plot
Anthology series featuring a variety of love and relationship stories based on the popular New York Times column. Those columns form the basis of this series, with each episode showing love in various forms, all inspired by true events. The stories are set in Amsterdam, from the Central Station, the Amstel to Amsterdam-Noord and Southeast.

Modern Love Amsterdam is the Dutch version of Modern Love; accessible, short stories about love and family relationships. Six episodes (23 to 39 minutes) with the top of our actors guild, including Eva van de Wijdeven, Rifka Lodeizen and Fedja van Huêt. With experienced writers and directors such as Robert Alberdingk Thijm (A'dam - EVA and Dunya and Desie) almost nothing can go wrong here.
In episode two we see Romijn Conen who suffered a cerebral infarction in 2015, and in Modern Love Amsterdam plays a man who tries to get on with his life after a ... cerebral infarction. It has become a poignant, intimate and beautiful document. And also one of Conen's first roles in the seven years after his stroke. Four of the six episodes leave you longing for the feature film version.
The format also has its limitations. Episode four deals with a complex trauma that cannot possibly be filmed properly in less than 23 minutes. The fifth episode is also not convincing. Love is an inexhaustible source of intimate stories. Modern Love Amsterdam shows that beautifully.
