Maiko-san Chino Makanai-San plot
Kiyo is a makanai, someone who prepares daily meals, in a maiko in the geisha district around Kyoto, a house where geishas in training live together. Sumire is a geisha who has also become a makanai. Different stories about these geishas and their world are told, with food as the common thread. Kiyo notices that the life of a geisha, but also that of an 'entertainer' like a makanai, is not easy.
