Klangor plot
After psychotic inmate Emil Knapik escapes, prison psychologist Rafal Wejman's life changes forever. In the twenty-four hours after Emil's escape, Rafal's teenage daughter Gabi disappears without a trace after a night out with her secret boyfriend Ariel. When Ariel's lifeless body is fished out of the river, the situation escalates completely. Who really killed Ariel and what exactly happened to Gabi? What is the connection to the escaped prisoner? As the truth comes to light, Rafal is a father who has nothing to lose in the midst of a marital crisis.

The theme of the Polish thriller Klangor - a missing teenager and a father who goes to investigate - we know from many other series, including the famous first season of The Missing. Klangor is a typical Eastern European drama; industrial locations (in this case a port), a dark atmosphere, alcohol and drug abuse and many gray skies and dark forests. A Polish Noir.
Fortunately, Klangor doesn't just linger in gloom and melancholy. The screenplay is lively, has some nice plot twists and the acting is good. Very well even in the case of the sister of the missing teenager, an excellent role of Katarzyna Galazka.
Klangor was developed through the Canal+ Series Lab, a talent program for series creators, screenwriters and directors. It lifts the series above mediocrity. And although Klangor starts very slowly, there is plenty to enjoy for fans of series such as the Polish Rojst or the Ukrainian Pryatki / Hide and Seek. The story is not original, but the execution is.
